AlarmPoint Systems Launches Crisis Notification System Grant Program

(May 16, 2007)-- AlarmPoint Systems announced the AlarmPoint Crisis Notification System Grant program that will use a competitive grant application process to award a total of 10 AlarmPoint crisis notification software package grants, each valued at up to $100,000. The grant program is open to all K-12 school districts, accredited higher education institutions, and state, local, or other regional municipal government entities located in the United States.

AlarmPoint Systems is undertaking its Crisis Notification Systems Grants Program to promote responsible and proactive development and use of effective two-way crisis notification and communication systems as an integral part of public entities' crisis communications plans. The competitive grant application process will be conducted through an online submission form at www.alarmpoint.com/crisisgrant.

For the 10 winning grant applicants in the AlarmPoint Crisis Notification System Grant program, awarded recipients will receive an AlarmPoint crisis notification software package* (each valued at up to $100,000). This crisis notification software package is based on the AlarmPoint Enterprise Advanced Messaging module, a premises-based, two-way communications system designed to facilitate the interactive notification, crisis management and event resolution process. When a critical event occurs, AlarmPoint automates notification on any voice, text, or wireless device to all appropriate stakeholders through a centralized, scalable system, serving as an integral part of an organization's crisis communication plan.

AlarmPoint systems are designed to allow teams to build, test and initiate scenarios that may affect an organization's ability to manage communications during a crisis. The system ensures that the appropriate personnel are dispatched, correct people notified and the action(s) required of stakeholders takes place as quickly and efficiently as possible. The AlarmPoint crisis notification system not only ensures resolution with confirmed communications for crisis scenarios including natural disasters, fire, weather, evacuation, utility systems outage, terrorism, chemical release and hazmat warnings, but includes an auditable trail of the event resolution process.

When a crisis occurs, AlarmPoint notifies the correct people, who follow a pre-configured action plan for correct and accountable resolution. Self-service, Web-based groups and personnel maintenance ensure accuracy in broadcast, dispatch and escalation. The system provides access-controlled, real-time Web reporting that allows users to drill-down to summary, group, device and user levels.

With AlarmPoint crisis notification software, organizations can better manage their business continuity and crisis communication scenarios, deploy mobile workforce groups, support real-time events, and customize messaging. By providing crisis notification and resolution communications on voice and wireless channels, AlarmPoint quickly and efficiently communicates the situation to the appropriate people who have a need to know in each crisis scenario -- critical contacts, such as first responders, management, administrative or campus personnel, family or community members, subject matter experts and repair crews.

The secure data architecture of AlarmPoint also ensures control of crucial private data, eliminating the risk associated with using hosted providers. AlarmPoint ensures that an organization's critical data is kept private, controlled and in compliance with HIPAA, Basel II, Sarbanes-Oxley, Gramm-Leach-Bliley and other regulations.
