WinMagic Partners with MXI Security to Integrate Endpoint Security Solutions

(Feb 20, 2008)-- WinMagicR Data Security, pioneer in endpoint security, announced that it has partnered with MXI SecurityT, the leader in managed portable security solutions, to integrate the companies' endpoint security solutions. WinMagic and MXI Security will introduce support for MXI Security Stealth MXPT and Outbacker MXPT portable security devices within WinMagic's SecureDocT security suite, to provide customers with greater choice and increased efficiencies from consolidated management.

"MXI Security's award-winning Stealth MXP and Outbacker MXP are perfect complements to WinMagic's proven encryption solutions for laptops, PDAs, removable media and data files," said Lawrence Reusing, Chief Executive Officer of MXI Security. "Our integrated solution will provide security-conscious customers with many more choices for protecting sensitive mobile data, and the confidence of knowing that each option they choose to deploy delivers robust, FIPS-approved security."

As a result of the partnership, customers will get the benefits of a single, enterprise-class platform for administering both SecureDoc client software and MXI Security's portable devices.

"In choosing encryption solutions for endpoint devices, customers want the flexibility to choose the 'right tool for the right job'," said Thi Nguyen-Huu, CEO of WinMagic Data Security. "Yet, at the same time they
required extensible management tools that allow them to effectively administer a heterogeneous environment, comprising both hardware and software-based encryption solutions," Nguyen-Huu continued. "We are pleased to be working with MXI Security to bring Stealth MXP and Outbacker MXP portable security solutions within our SecureDoc management offering."

MXI Security's Stealth MXP and Outbacker MXP are ideally suited for organizations that require up to 3-factor authentication (biometric, password or both) and AES 256-bit on-board hardware encryption to satisfy
their needs for securely storing up to hundreds gigabytes of confidential information. The Stealth MXP and Stealth MXP Passport products have received Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2 level 2
validation, a necessary requirement for deployment within the U.S. Government.

Under the terms of the agreement reached last week, WinMagic will resell Stealth MXP and Outbacker MXP co-branded as 'SecureDoc Unplugged' to customers around the world.

"Our research has consistently shown that IT organizations are driven by security and compliance requirements to protect sensitive data, while at the same time they are under considerable pressure to reduce operational costs,"said Derek E. Brink, Vice President and Research Director for IT Security at Aberdeen Group. "Companies with the best performance take an enterprise-wide view of encryption as part of an overall information security strategy, and use a centralized key management platform - supporting encryption solutions from multiple vendors - to realize higher levels of automation and lower total cost of ownership."

"This strategic partnership with MXI Security clearly confirms WinMagic's commitment to strengthening its SecureDoc security suite with best-in-class portable security devices, and address its corporate and government customers' wide-ranging requirements for a comprehensive, manageable security solution for portable data," added Nguyen-Huu.
