Guidance Software Introduces Groundbreaking Search, Collection, and Processing Capabilities in Latest Release of EnCase(R) eDiscovery

Guidance Software Inc., (NASDAQ: GUID) the World Leader in Digital Investigations(TM), has announced groundbreaking in-house eDiscovery processing capabilities, new connectors for leading archiving and content management solutions and a new work-flow driven interface in version 3.1 of its industry-leading EnCase(R) eDiscovery solution. These added competencies further expand the search, collection, preservation and processing capabilities of EnCase eDiscovery, enabling litigants to reduce risk and realize tremendous cost savings by eliminating outsourcing and bringing the eDiscovery process in-house.

Guidance Software's EnCase eDiscovery now offers the ability to quickly and easily create EDRM-compliant XML load files, along with load files for Concordance and Summation attorney review platforms. With this push-button load file creation capability, collected data can be quickly processed and delivered into the hands of attorneys for review.

EnCase eDiscovery's collection capabilities are likewise improved by connectors that extract semi-structured data from archiving and content management solutions. The initial release will support EMC's Documentum, and in subsequent dot releases support is planned for Open Text LiveLink, Microsoft Sharepoint, and Symantec Enterprise Vault. Additionally, version 3.1 has enhanced connectors to Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino live messaging servers.

EnCase eDiscovery now includes the ability to search encrypted documents and emails, which can be decrypted "on the fly", permitting a search of the contents as if the files and emails were not encrypted. This capability enables the electronic discovery process to operate smoothly and efficiently, despite the presence of encrypted documents and emails.

In addition to these new features, Guidance Software is excited to now offer a new workflow driven interface that makes it easier than ever for organizations to implement a systematic, defensible and repeatable in-house eDiscovery process. This new workflow dramatically decreases ramp-up time as it gives users the ability to use check-box and push-button controls for search, collection, processing, and load-file creation. It also includes a global database that stores custodian and user information, thereby simplifying subsequent cases because the same information no longer needs to be re-entered for each case.

"Guidance Software continues to set the standard for what organizations should expect in an in-house eDiscovery solution," said Victor Limongelli, President and CEO of Guidance Software. "This latest version of EnCase eDiscovery includes state-of-the-art capabilities for the search, collection, preservation and processing of electronically stored information, as well as a new interface that makes these powerful capabilities extremely easy to use."

Last month, Guidance Software received the highest ranking (Top 5 Provider) in the eDiscovery Software Providers Category of Socha-Gelbmann's 2008 Electronic Discovery Survey. Guidance Software also received the highest possible(a) rating in Gartner's MarketScope for E-Discovery and Litigation Support Vendors, 2007.
