Optical Image Technology And DBSi Announce Srategic Partnership
(July 19, 2007)-- Optical Image Technology, creator of DocFinity workflow and document management software, announced a strategic business partnership with Bethlehem, Pennsylvania-based DBSi. This alliance benefits customers and prospects of both companies through expansion of offerings in workflow and document management for DBSi and high-availability disaster recovery and managed hosting for OIT. Both OIT and DBSi support mission critical enterprise environments within healthcare, financial services, technology and other market segments; the focus is on their clients being “always-on” since disruption of services or inability to access information can have a notable impact on their clients. Businesses with large amounts of mission-critical data will benefit from the efficiencies gained via the integrated workflow and document management solutions provided by OIT and the data protection and hosting provided by DBSi.
Jim Thumma, OIT's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, states, "DBSi is a premier provider of flexible disaster recovery, business continuance, and secure managed hosting services. All three of these items are top on the minds of our customer base today. And, who better to partner with than a company with three decades of experience and success to offer to our current and future customers?"
DBSi owns and operates multiple advanced technology hosting and recovery centers in Pennsylvania supporting New England and the Mid-Atlantic States. They specialize in providing customized disaster recovery and hosting solutions for mid-size to Fortune 500 corporations. DBSi's recovery centers have been designed for traditional rack technology as well as high-density environments requiring power and cooling capabilities found in few recovery facilities. DBSi knows that people are at the core of any business; their workspace recovery centers can accommodate over 1,200 employees and offer 24 hour a day secured usage. These centers are fully equipped with PC workstations, phones, copiers and secured entrances.
In addition to disaster recovery, DBSi offers managed hosting services that utilize customer equipment or DBSi-provided technology. The focus is on relieving customers of the day-to-day issues associated with running and maintaining a secured data center environment, allowing them to focus instead on their core business. The company supports multiple hardware platforms and operating systems, and has been selected by SAP Americas as the disaster recovery provider for their managed hosting services. Understanding that their customers must adhere to Federal regulations, acts, and standards, DBSi supports Sarbanes-Oxley, SAS/70, SEC, GLB, HIPAA, JCAHO and FDA requirements.
