Benjamin England, Former FDA Regulatory Counsel, to Testify on FDA Import Strategic Plan Before House Appropriations Subcommittee

(Sept 24, 2007)-- Benjamin England, Special Counsel with Jones Walker, will testify before the Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies, of the House Committee on Appropriations, on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in Room 2362A of the Rayburn House Office Building. His testimony will focus on the on the Food & Drug Administration's (FDA) Import Strategic Plan that relates to the import of food, drugs and products from other countries, principally China.

Mr. England spent 17 years with the FDA, his last three years as Regulatory Counsel to the Associate Commissioner for Regulatory Affairs. He is the co-author of the FDA Import Strategic Plan, the foundational document for the FDA's current Strategic Framework and Action Plan.
