Virtua Health Selects Zix Corporation for Email Encryption Service

(Feb 14, 2007)--Zix Corporation said that Virtua Health signed a three-year contract for 9,000 users with CynergisTek for ZixCorp’s Email Encryption Service. CynergisTek offers ZixCorp’s encryption service as part of its technology portfolio to the healthcare and finance industries.

With this latest contract, ZixCorp now secures business communications for more than 40 percent of New Jersey hospitals. Virtua employs 7,200 personnel and has 1,800 physicians as medical staff members. Virtua has been recognized as one of the first Six Sigma organizations in health care, as an early adopter of clinical and digital technologies, and for its innovative partnerships with nationally renowned organizations. ZixCorp enforces corporate email security policies to ensure secure handling of confidential information, including a pre-configured lexicon that automatically detects and encrypts protected health information. ZixCorp will help Virtua further reduce the risk of data leaks and eliminate potential security flaws.

The vast ZixDirectory, which includes over 900 hospitals, allows seamless encrypted email delivery to healthcare organizations, insurers, financial institutions and regulators, including the federal banking (FFIEC) regulatory agencies. Additionally, with three of the five leading insurance companies and half of the Blues organizations using ZixCorp’s Email Encryption Service, ZixCorp’s customers cover one in three insured lives in the U.S. ZixCorp now supports five encrypted email delivery mechanisms, including S/MIME, TLS, OpenPGP, secure portal and “push” delivery.
