Tizor Systems Joins PCI Security Vendor Alliance as Management Member
(March 08, 2007)-- Tizor Systems, provider of enterprise data auditing and protection solutions for the data center, said that it has joined the PCI Security Vendor Alliance as a management member, representing the first data auditing and protection company to work with other leading technology vendors to help the retail industry automate PCI compliance and support the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard.
The PCI Security Vendors Alliance (PCI SVA) is a coalition of vendors that provide solutions and expertise in securing payment card transactions. PCI SVA assists members of the payment card industry -- composed of merchants, banks, and point-of-sale vendors -- in educating the business community on the requirements and business value of the PCI Data Security Standard (DSS) a global benchmark intended to improve security throughout the entire payment card transaction process. The PCI DSS is applicable to any enterprise that processes payment cards including retail, hospitality, healthcare, entertainment and others.
The PCI cardholder security program is a contractual requirement for businesses that handle cardholder information for Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and Diner's Club. PCI requires companies to audit all accesses to cardholder data, review audit logs daily and be able to reconstruct a wide range of events tied to cardholder information--with detailed audit trails for each event.
Tizor's data auditing and protection capabilities enable companies to monitor and report on credit card data activity, as required by PCI. Tizor's Mantra provides pre-configured policies for meeting PCI requirements immediately upon deployment. It offers discovery and auditing of PCI-relevant cardholder information as well as a unique capability for detecting potential identity theft called Behavioral Fingerprinting. Through rich reporting and automated analytics, Tizor can isolate potential PCI non-compliance and unauthorized cardholder data access to provide critical insight for security management and PCI assessors.
As a managing member of the alliance, Tizor will play an active role in facilitating a community of practitioners, vendors, and PCI experts that further the state of data security via educational collateral, Webinars, and specialized subcommittees.
Mantra is a new class of network-based data auditing and protection solutions providing enterprises with a unified approach to auditing databases, file systems and mainframe environments. A high-performance solution that scales to accommodate the largest enterprise data center, it utilizes patent-pending intelligent analytics to address data theft from the data source and help organizations meet the requirements of a broad range of compliance regulations and industry standards including PCI, SOX, HIPAA, and SB 1386, as well as enabling corporate best practices for data security and privacy.
