Certain Software Achieves Highest Level of Payment Card Industry Compliance for Service Providers

(July 31, 2007)-- Certain has been awarded the distinction of achieving Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard Level 1 Service Provider status. This achievement follows an extensive on-site audit conducted by an approved Quality Security Assessor. Anyone who accepts credit card payments for their meetings, events, conferences, conventions or training programs using Certain Registration will be assured all transactions are handled with the Payment Card Industry's highest security standards.

PCI Data Security Standard Level 1 compliance is the highest tier outlined for service providers by the PCI Security Standards Council, an organization formed by the major US credit card companies. Certain joins the company of other service providers who handle sensitive credit card information in a high volume capacity including PayPal, Wells Fargo Bank, Federal Express and JP Morgan Chase.

Certain President & CEO, James A. Pappas, comments, "We are proud to be the only online registration company to have achieved PCI Level 1 Service Provider certification. We strongly believe it is our obligation to protect our customers from fines up to $50,000, soon to be enforced by the major credit card companies. No other online registration company has this official certification."

Certain achieved official PCI Level 1 status through passing a stringent network and data security audit. Among many security enhancing initiatives, Certain's team implemented upgrades to the Certain Registration application including improved encryption and new measures to manage usernames, passwords and Personal Account Numbers.

Certain CIO, Jonathan Dodson, adds, "Going through this extensive PCI compliance process is a means to formally document the security processes and procedures on which Certain has and will always focus."

Complying with the latest e-commerce and data security trends has always been a high priority at Certain. Before MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover and JCB came together to form the PCI Security Standards Council, Certain met previous industry standards including Visa CISP.

Pappas translates this recent achievement, "Certain is highly committed to offering our customers the highest level of e-commerce security. We have invested our resources to ensure that when using our products they are protected from non-compliance penalties which are quite substantial."
