Imprivata's OneSign Solution Solves Password Management, Access and Compliance Issues at Credit Unions Nationwide
(Sept 24, 2007)-- Imprivata, the converged identity and access management appliance company, continues to experience significant growth and momentum within the financial services industry as an increasing number of credit unions and financial institutions have selected the company’s OneSign appliance to solve the password management, access and compliance challenges that burden the industry. Delta Community Credit Union, NASA Federal Credit Union, Northeast Credit Union and Telhio Credit Union are a few of the credit unions that have successfully implemented OneSign to address these problems.
Credit unions and financial organizations are challenged to adhere to strict government and industry regulations, such as the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), the Gramm-Leach Bliley Act (GLBA) and Basel II. Each of these requires financial services organizations to tighten up security across their companies and implement strong authentication for both customer-facing applications and internal application access. Organizations throughout the financial services industry have seen increases in identity theft, malicious outside attacks and inappropriate internal use, making it even more important that solid protections are put in place.
Northeast Credit Union, located in New Hampshire, selected Imprivata’s OneSign Single Sign-On (SSO) to quickly and effectively solve the company’s password management, security and user access issues. “We needed a solution that was quick to implement and easy to maintain,” said Mike Gagnon, VP, Information Technology of Northeast Credit Union. “Imprivata’s SSO solution was up and running in no time and we are thrilled at the new security posture at the company. We are no longer burdened with password issues and have been able to more efficiently prove regulatory compliance.”
Imprivata’s OneSign platform is an authentication and access management solution conveniently packaged in an affordable and secure purpose-built appliance. It offers an affordable way to achieve compliance while solving password management problems, reducing IT help desk costs and improving user productivity and security. The solution’s access management capabilities enable organizations to record and control who accesses what and when, helping to comply with government regulations. The OneSign platform includes OneSign Authentication Management (AM), which increases network security by replacing network access passwords with strong authentication options; OneSign Single Sign-On (SSO), which quickly and effectively solves password management, security and user access issues; and OneSign Physical/Logical, which integrates building and network access systems to enable location-based authentication.
“Imprivata understands the security challenges credit unions face and strives to deliver strong products that are flexible enough to directly meet their needs,” said Omar Hussain, president and CEO of Imprivata. “Dealing with the ever-increasing amount of regulations in the financial services industry can be an enormous time expenditure for organizations. With OneSign, companies can better manage and record access, making compliance easier while increasing overall security.”
