Sphinx to Accelerate Widespread Deployment of MXI Security's Secure Portable Security Solutions
(Oct 23, 2007)-- MXI Security, announced the appointment of Sphinx as its primary UK distributor. The deal will accelerate widespread adoption of MXI Security’s portable solutions for identity and access management services, which provide large enterprises and SMBs alike with a single answer to the pressing issues of portable data security, secure remote access, and compliance.
Nottingham-based Sphinx is one of the UK's leading independent IT distributors, providing technology products from market leaders and innovators in the converging areas of security, networking and telecoms. Sphinx delivers value-added services that assist reseller partners to successfully develop appropriate, cost-effective technology solutions, right for their market and their customers.
Increased mobilization of the workforce has brought new challenges: protecting data taken outside the corporate environment and providing transparent secure external access to data.
Many organizations have discovered that frustrated employees will simply circumvent over-complex or restrictive security policies, therefore opening the door to further security breaches.
MXI Security facilitates productivity by providing mobile workers with powerful security tools. At the heart of the solution are highly-portable three-factor devices providing biometrically-secure encrypted storage to protect data. In addition, enterprise-class management software ACCESS Enterprise, ACCESS Identity™ and Remote ACCESS make the Stealth MXP and Outbacker MXP units easy to deploy, manage and support.
Earlier in 2007, the MXI Security Stealth MXP Portable Security Device was certified as an RSA SecurID-ready solution and was awarded the comprehensive FIPS 140-2 Level 2 security validation from the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
Miles Rippon, area vice president, EMEA Channels at RSA, The Security Division of EMC comments: “MXI Security Solutions combined with RSA SecurID tokens provide three-factor authentication that is easy to deploy, completely portable, convenient for end users and compatible with existing remote access infrastructures. We are excited about the potential for joint distribution to bring innovative portable security solutions to more enterprises.”
Sphinx Managing Director Mark Hatton comments: “The need to know who is accessing a network has risen to new levels, particularly when it comes to compliance issues such as the Data Protection Act of 1998, ISO 27001, Sarbanes Oxley and PCI. Today, enterprises of all sizes must deploy a reliable, secure remote access solution that also provides room to grow as both their users and needs expand in the future. We are seeing rising demand from large enterprises through to small and medium-size businesses for this higher level of assurance. MXI Security has developed a suite of products that are perfectly suited to the deployment of a reliable remote access solution.”
