New PhoneFactor Web Platform Prevents Unauthorized Access to Online Websites and Transactions

(Dec 05, 2007)-- Positive Networks, provider of managed security services, announced a new Web Platform for use with the company's award-winning PhoneFactor two-factor authentication service. With U.S. website fraud accounting for more than seven billion dollars over the last two years, companies need an easy way to provide additional security. The new PhoneFactor Web Platform enables websites to easily authenticate consumer access using something users already have - their phone.

PhoneFactor enables secure access to online banking and financial services websites and can be used to authenticate financial or other high risk online transactions. In addition, the Web Platform is an ideal solution for software-as-a-service providers to authenticate client access to their remotely-hosted data and applications and to limit access to licensed individuals. The PhoneFactor Web Platform seamlessly integrates with the existing online login and transaction processes.

Due to the hassle and cost of deploying traditional authentication solutions, access to two-factor security has been limited to a select number of users. And some websites have resorted to weak authentication solutions to avoid the expense of mailing out physical devices. Now it is easy and cost effective to deploy true two-factor security to all users - making secure online access available to the masses.

"The PhoneFactor Web Platform makes it easy for companies to secure access to their websites, web-based applications, and online transactions using two-factor authentication" said Sarah Fender, AVP Product & Service Delivery, Positive Networks. "PhoneFactor makes it possible for companies to provide a high level of security for all of their users, meet regulatory compliance guidelines, and differentiate their services through superior security."
