Increased Demand for Application Security Drives Ounce Labs to Expand Its Federal Government Sales Team

(Jan 07, 2008)-- Ounce Labs announced it has appointed Bill Clark as Vice President of Federal Sales. Clark brings a proven track record of building successful federal sales teams to drive profits for leading software companies such as Watchfire, an IBM company, and BEA Systems. Building on Ounce's 500 percent growth in Federal government sales in 2007, Clark will continue to drive Ounce's presence in the federal marketplace by expanding the federal sales team and forging new customer and partner relationships.

"Ounce Labs has had remarkable growth and continues to gain momentum in the federal market based on the unique value proposition of its source code analysis solutions that automatically performs rapid analysis of immense volumes of code while also addressing application security compliance concerns," said Bill Clark. "I look forward to building on the company's success in the federal market and adding to its growing roster of federal customers."

"Bill was an integral part in our success in partnering with Watchfire to help a number of agencies dramatically increase their ability to assess the security of applications during development, acquisition, and deployment," said Doug Fusco, senior vice president of sales, Ounce Labs. "We welcome him to our team and look forward to even greater success in the federal market in 2008."

Prior to joining Ounce, Clark spent two years at Watchfire Corporation, a security and compliance testing software company, where he helped the company to rapidly grow federal sales revenues and deliver the largest federal sale in the company's 10-year history. In addition to delivering the most successful Federal quarter in 2007, Clark also saw the company through its acquisition by IBM. Clark also served as director of federal Civilian Agencies for BEA Systems and held Federal VP positions at leading portal company Epicentric and Vignette. Clark also successfully managed business development efforts at Oracle and Sybase where he was focused in winning large Federal RFPs.

"Bill has an outstanding record of building federal sales teams, closing large customer deals and helping companies to grow their bottom lines," said Hugh Scandrett, president, Ounce Labs. "His federal experience will be a great asset in continuing to build upon our success in the federal market while growing our federal sales team and expanding our leadership in software security."

With Ounce Labs, organizations strengthen application security, protect confidential information and verify compliance with both internal policies and industry mandates such as PCI, FISMA, HIPAA and others.
