Modulo Unveils Multi-Regulatory Framework at Technosium 2008

(Jan 28, 2008)-- Modulo, provider of risk management solutions in the security industry, will participate in Technosium 2008, which will occur between January 27 and January 31 in Santa Clara, California. The company will introduce MetaFramework, a multi-regulatory compliance solution for meeting mandates and guidelines such as SOX, PCI, FISMA, ISO 17799, ISO 27001, COBIT, NIST 800-53, A130 and FISAP.

Based on Modulo's experience developing tools for risk management, governance and compliance, MetaFramework is composed by a group of requirements that are already registered in the system and have the capability to evaluate controls and store evidences. All the information is automatically organized and allows a company to analyze its risks and identify the level of compliance according to the database frameworks, among other features.

By using Modulo MetaFramework, the Chief Security Officer (CSO) is able to execute audit processes efficiently and with lower costs, manage the security requirements (eliminating redundant costs and unnecessary controls) and obey laws, regulations and other current standards.

"The security department must understand and meet those requirements, identifying the ones that will be implemented, and provide the conditions to reach compliance," says Alvaro Lima, Modulo's co-founder. Nowadays, the main challenge is to find a solution for each case, considering the many possibilities of organizing requirements and evidences storage and compliance demonstration, which are both required for auditing processes.

Despite this diversity, the security controls are frequently the same. "The CSO needs to know the laws and regulations to find the best compliance practices in order to implement the controls and register the evidences that demonstrate compliance. This process creates a group of results that are very difficult to manage. Modulo developed a solution that helps companies to deal with all these procedures just once, says Mr. Lima.

Awards -- Besides the presentation of Modulo MetaFramework, the American magazine Info Security Products Guide will announce the winners of the Global Product Excellence Awards Customer Trust at Technosium 2008. The prize is a worldwide endorsement on information security products and technologies. Risk Manager, Modulo's tool for risk management and compliance, is a finalist in two categories: Audit Solution and Risk Management Solution. It is the first time that Modulo will compete for this award.
