FFIEC NewsGilbarco's Robinson Speaks About PCI Standards Compliance at National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) Workshop(Sept 22, 2008)-- Andrew Robinson, director of the global payment business unit at Gilbarco Veeder-Root, will speak at the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) conference and trade show on Saturday, October 4 at McCormick Place in Chicago. The workshop entitled "PCI Compliance: Ignorance is Not a Defense" outlines the actions that petroleum retailers and convenience store operators must take to comply with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). These standards are designed to protect consumer card and Personal Identification Number (PIN) data in debit transactions at the gas pump and inside the convenience store. The workshop also outlines the risks and costs of non-compliance. Robinson's presentation will highlight the impact of security standards, both in North America and globally, on petroleum retailers. Specifically, he will talk about payment at the pump and what's required to meet emerging requirements. Robinson, a five-year employee of Gilbarco Veeder-Root, holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MME from Purdue University, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. Other speakers on the panel include Karl Goodhouse, president of Clark Brands, LLC and Shekar Swamy, president of American Technology Corporation. The session will be moderated by Lisa Stewart, president of Impact 21 Group, LLC. Gilbarco Veeder-Root is a participating organization of the PCI Security Standards Council.
