nuBridges Supports Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard Version 1.2

(Oct 06, 2008)-- nuBridges, the secure eBusiness authority, today announced its support for the newly released version 1.2 of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

"We applaud the Payment Card Industry Security Council and fully support their achievements in updating PCI DSS with meaningful additions on a regular basis to secure payment card data from theft," said Gary Palgon, vice president of Product Management at nuBridges. "Among other important changes, version 1.2 will help companies establish best practices to protect data in transit over wireless networks with strong cryptography in addition to protecting data at rest."

Version 1.2 of the PCI DSS is an important milestone for the Council and for everyone involved in securing cardholder data. It incorporates updates based on feedback received from participating organizations and others in the payments chain over the past two years. During that time, the Payment Card Industry Security Council responded to nearly 2,500 questions, provided guidance and response to these questions and continually monitored the ever-changing landscape of data security. With the input and support of the founding payment brands and PCI Board of Advisors, the culmination of these efforts is seen in PCI DSS version 1.2.
