Alert Logic Teams with NaviSite to Deliver IT Compliance, Security Solutions

(Oct 15, 2008)-- Alert Logic announced that it has signed a partnership agreement with NaviSite, a leading provider of enterprise hosting and application solutions. Under terms of the agreement, NaviSite will offer Alert Logic's Log Manager and Threat Manager to its managed hosting customers. Log Manager gives organizations the ability to secure their networks and comply with regulations that mandate log data be collected, regularly reviewed, and securely archived. Threat Manager combines intrusion detection and vulnerability management technology to offer protection from viruses, worms, and other threats that easily bypass perimeter and endpoint defenses.

Many of NaviSite's customers increasingly must comply with industry and government regulations such as Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA).
NaviSite's e-commerce customers are especially impacted by the PCI DSS, a set of 12 data security-related requirements that establish common processes and precautions for handling, processing, storing, and transmitting credit card data. Both Log Manager and Threat Manager provide many of the technologies required to maintain compliance with the PCI DSS. Since they can be purchased as add-on services to NaviSite's managed hosting solutions, customers can greatly simplify the process of satisfying several PCI DSS requirements.

Both Log Manager and Threat Manager are delivered via a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform, which will enable NaviSite to quickly deploy the solutions on behalf of its customers. This delivery model provides NaviSite's customers with the ability to access Log Manager and Threat Manager through a web browser -- with no software installation or maintenance required.
