McAfee Announces SmartBUY Agreement for Total Protection for Enterprise Solutions

(April 10, 2007)-- McAfee, a security technology company, announced that McAfee Total Protection for Enterprise security solution will be available to Federal agencies through the government-wide SmartBUY program.

McAfee Total Protection for Enterprise is the first comprehensive, integrated solution to deliver inclusive, easy to manage protection from a centralized console. Included is anti-spyware, anti-virus, anti-spam, firewall and intrusion prevention. McAfee Total Protection for Enterprise employs FIPS 140-2 compliant cryptography modules, as required by FISMA.

"Government agencies are facing complex challenges in information security, and they must constantly guard against new threats," said Mike Carpenter, vice president of Federal operations for McAfee, Inc. "This SmartBUY deal will enable government agencies of any size to more easily and cost-efficiently protect their networks against the ever-changing security threats they encounter every day."

SmartBUY, created by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and administered by the General Services Administration (GSA), allows the Federal government to leverage its purchasing power to secure lower prices for software. Agencies are required to purchase software through a SmartBUY contract whenever possible.
