BusinessNOW Documentary Features Brabeion Software for Its Role in Enabling IT Governance and FISMA Compliance

(Sept 24, 2007)-- Brabeion Software, pioneer in IT Compliance & Risk Management, will be featured in the PBS documentary series, titled "BusinessNOW-Capital Edition," airing on Sunday, September 23rd at 11:00am EDT. Brabeion was chosen for this week's "Case In Point" case study segment, illustrating how the federal government continues to successfully acquire technologies from the private sector to enable changes in procedures and policies in addition to complying with FISMA. The full half hour program can be seen at the same time through a live webcast on http://www.businessnow.com/.

Brabeion's IT Governance, Risk & Compliance (IT GRC) software helps federal agencies meet compliance requirements, including those for the FISMA and SOX regulations, and optimally manage their business risks. In this documentary, Brabeion will share its insights into deploying and automating a full policy, procedure and controls lifecycle management program.

The documentary panel includes moderator Phil Bond, president & CEO of ITAA; Chris Dorobek, editor-in-chief of Federal Computer Week; Kathy Kraninger, director of the Office of Screening Coordination for DHS; and Gordon Hannah, managing director of Public Sector Security and Identity Management Group for BearingPoint.

According to Coerte Voorhees, executive producer of BusinessNOW, "The various security and compliance mandates for federal agencies have received much media attention, but have not convinced Congress that the U.S. citizen's privacy is adequately protected. Vastly more important is how privacy can be protected once it's out on the network. The answer is simple -- the solution is not. Much of it comes down to people, policy and procedures that are enabled by IT. Privacy breaches are most often caused by human error -- a laptop lost with thousands of social security numbers and passwords inadvertently given out. How do you stop that? Brabeion's solution for achieving policy, procedure and controls lifecycle management is already working for the private sector and NIST has identified IT governance, risk and compliance (IT GRC) software from companies like Brabeion as crucial for the federal government."
