LogLogic and BMC Establish a Technology Alliance Partner and Resale Agreement to Deepen Audit Capabilities for Compliance and Business Service Management

LogLogic’s log data warehouse powers BMC Identity and Business Service Management solutions to automate compliance, reduce risk, and improve IT controls

SAN JOSE, Calif., – November 14, 2007  - LogLogic (www.loglogic.com), the log management leader, today announced that it has formed an alliance with BMC Software Inc., the leading provider of Business Service Management (BSM).   Through this relationship, BMC will resell LogLogic’s award-winning log management and intelligence (LMI) platform.

Enterprises need to continuously deliver IT business value while implementing new internal policy frameworks, such as ITIL and COBIT, and assuring compliance with an expanding list of external regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley, PCI, and HIPAA.  BMC’s BSM and Identity Management solutions combined with LogLogic 4 provide customers a unified agile approach to automate and assure compliance, while delivering real business value and improving IT control.

"Compliance reporting requirements and the need to quickly discover security breaches are driving the need for improved capabilities in user activity monitoring," said Mark Nicolett and Earl Perkins in the August 2007 Gartner report Security Information and Event Management Complement Identity and Access Management Audits.  "As multiple systems and applications are accessed during an extended period of time, there is also a need to monitor changes in user entitlements, resource access policies, and user activity at the network, system, database, application, and transaction layers.  Identity and access management (IAM) tools can provide a high-quality policy change and user access audit trail for the portion of the IT infrastructure that is within the scope of the IAM deployment."

“Assuring adherence with identity policies and procedures is increasingly challenging in today’s dynamic data center environment.  With countless regulatory compliance measures, organizations are also challenged in demonstrating what their employees are doing with their access,” said John Pullen, vice president and general manager of BMC Software’s Identity Management Business Unit. “By adding LogLogic’s log management and intelligence platform to BMC’s Identity Management and compliance offerings, BMC provides greater visibility into user and system activity with analytic capabilities that can proactively alert, report and assure regulatory, policy and standards adherence.”

“With stricter compliance mandates and ever-present security threats, log management capabilities are increasingly being embedded into governance, risk, and compliance solutions,” said Dominique Levin, CEO of LogLogic.  “We are committed to forging partnerships that support this GRC push towards log management.  LogLogic’s log management combined with BMC’s BSM and identity access control allows enterprises to have their finger on the pulse of IT infrastructure activity and ensure regulatory compliance, airtight security, and solid IT controls.”
The combined LogLogic and BMC solution is now available immediately from BMC Software.
