Guidance Software Hosts Federal Information Assurance Symposium

(Nov 21, 2007)-- Guidance Software, the World Leader in Digital Investigations, announced that a group of leading federal IT security experts will convene to discuss new ways for federal agencies to derive business value from their Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) compliance investments at the Information Assurance (IA) Symposium on Thursday, November 29, at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel in Bethesda, Maryland.

At the symposium, leading Federal IT experts will examine the powerful opportunity IT security regulation compliance offers federal agencies in a panel that will review everything from how to generate the business case for IT security investments to the direction panelists see FISMA headed in the future. Panelists include:

-- Sharon Ehlers, Chief Information Officer, Policy and Planning Division, Certification and Accreditation Transformation, Office of the Director of National Intelligence
-- Ron Ross, Senior Computer Scientist and Information Security Researcher, National Institute of Standards and Technology

In addition to the panel discussion, the symposium will feature speakers from a number of IA companies already helping government agencies leverage the value of their IT security investments. These companies include Guidance Software, ArcSight, Bit 9, NetWitness, and Utimaco.
