Numerica Credit Union Selects TraceSecurity to Ensure Compliance and to Protect 70,000 Members' Account Information

(May 07, 2007)--TraceSecurity, provider of on-demand security compliance management solutions, announced that it signed a three year contract with Numerica Credit Union to provide the most advanced technologies and services available to fulfill Numerica's goals of customer data protection and security compliance.

With more than 70,000 members located throughout Central and Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho and $650 million in assets, Numerica Credit Union is one of the largest credit unions in the Northwest, making them and their customers an ideal target for ID thieves and creating a serious need to remain compliant with industry and government regulations.

Before signing TraceSecurity, Numerica Credit Union utilized a series of different accounting firms, which struggled to meet the credit union's security and compliance management needs. Numerica then discovered and finally chose TraceSecurity for its plethora of vulnerability testing services and security compliance technology. As part of the three year contract, Numerica Credit Union will utilize TraceSecurity software-as-a-service (SAAS) Compliance Manager; TraceTunnel, an encryption tool for TCP/IP services; as well as TraceSecurity's penetration testing, vulnerability and security training services.

Numerica's contract with TraceSecurity includes annual on-site vulnerability assessments, annual external penetration tests, quarterly external vulnerability assessments, and Trace Compliance Manager -- a
patented suite of ASP-based software products that combines asset database information, policy monitoring, vulnerability information, training and compliance surveys.

Together these components ensure that Numerica is not only meeting regulatory and compliance standards (i.e. GLBA), but also protecting their members from falling victim to identity theft.
