Securent's Latest Release Further Advances Its Technology Leadership In Entitlement Management Market

(May 15, 2007)--Securent announced the next release of the Securent Entitlement Management Solution (EMS), further enabling organizations to meet their security and compliance requirements by securing access to sensitive applications and information with unmatched fine-grained controls and visibility.

With this release, Securent extends its technology lead over other entitlement management products by adding superior end-to-end protection for organizations' sensitive information, the broadest application support available in an entitlement management product, and increased performance and scalability for distributed enterprise deployments.

Gus Tepper, vice president of software development for business information provider The First American Corporation, stated: "Our compliance and information security efforts demand that we manage user entitlements and identity access across our entire enterprise and not just within individual applications. We selected Securent EMS because of its compliance with the XACML standard and its ability to provide us with
policy-driven access controls that have the granularity, consistency, scalability and flexibility we need across our global enterprise. Securent's approach to fine-grained entitlement management has the potential to significantly reduce the time and cost of developing customapplications and portals. "

Leveraging the Extensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML) standard, Securent EMS v3.0 delivers the industry's most comprehensive and robust entitlement management platform. Securent now provides organizations with end-to-end protection of their sensitive data by adding consistent and seamless policy enforcement to databases, including Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, to complement existing policy enforcement capabilities at the application and presentation layers. Already the leader in protecting
custom line-of-business applications, as proven with the most entitlement management deployments in the industry, Securent EMS v3.0 now extends its capabilities to protect critical off-the-shelf applications, including
Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, JBoss Portal 2.4 and 2.6, and BEA WebLogic Portal 9.2. Securent's EMS v3.0 agents seamlessly integrate with these essential enterprise collaboration and portal platforms to ensure companies' applications, documents, and data are secured while compliance requirements are enforced.

Securent EMS now is scalable up to millions of users and thousands of applications deployed across hundreds of sites. Each EMS component has standards-compliant interfaces and can be deployed independently of oneanother in co-located, distributed, and federated configurations. This flexible architecture allows enterprises to match Securent EMS deployments to their specific needs. It enables Securent EMS to consistently manage, enforce, and audit entitlements for a broad class of resources, including mainframes, networking, storage, and grid computing. This critical feature brings consistent, end-to-end, policy-driven entitlement management to enterprises, helping them mitigate their security and compliance risks.

Securent EMS provides a more scalable and cost-effective alternative to custom coding of fine-grained access controls into applications. Loosely coupling entitlements with application services, Securent EMS is also a key
infrastructure service in an effective SOA deployment. The results, as seen in Fortune 1000 deployments, include improved security and compliance with regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), Basel Capital Accord (Basel II), and the National Association of Securities Dealers Rule 2711 (NASD 2711).
