Synergy Bank Deploys Bankwide Security Training from the Edcomm Group

(May 25, 2007)-- The Edcomm Group recently deployed its Security Training eLearning program — along with Edcomm’s own Learning Management System (LMS), Learning Link for hosting and maintenance — to Synergy Bank of Waco, TX.

Achieving Bankwide Security Excellence, a computer-based, distance learning program, can be delivered via Internet, intranet or CD-ROM. The program teaches all aspects of bank safety and security in an interactive, self-paced format. Participants learn from their own perspective, with a curriculum customized to their positions, covering all areas of Bank Security, including: Opening and Closing Procedures, Robbery Prevention and Procedures, Bomb Threats, Kidnappings, Fires and Medical Emergencies as well as Information Security.

Participants will learn how to recognize identity theft, social engineering, phishing, fraud and spam scams to protect customer and employee information. Complying with privacy laws and regulations that require due diligence such as the GLBA, Reg P and FACT Act, the program teaches students proper security policies and procedures for strong passwords, Internet and email usage, fraud prevention, threat detection and risk avoidance. Achieving Bankwide Security Excellence will help to create a knowledgeable staff, prepared to handle potential technological and physical risks, as well as security at every bank branch.

Learning Link, Edcomm’s full-featured learning management system has an open architecture that builds on industry-standard SCORM and AICC compliance, but adds features and capabilities far beyond any competing products. Learning Link maintains a complete record of every learning and administrative activity and offers a wide variety of customizable, real-time reports available both onscreen and in CSV formats for download and integration into any HR system. Learning Link’s servers have been issued a SAS-70 attesting to the quality of their security, business continuity and performance.
