National Data Breach Recovery Provider Granted Federal Government General Services Contract

(May 25, 2007)--Portland-area-based full-service national Data Protection and Identity Theft Recovery provider, Identity Safeguards, announced its approval for GSA contract GS-23F-0037T.

After several years in the identity theft recovery business, in response to Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) privacy regulation, Identity Safeguards began offering an Identity Protection Solution specifically targeted at organizations. This solution includes an Emergency Incident Response Service (EIRS) that Identity Safeguards has perfected, triggering GSA approval.

Identity Safeguards (www.identitysafeguards.com) has provided this Emergency Incident Response Service to a multitude of well-known national corporations. These corporations have benefited from Identity Safeguards' EIRS plan, satisfying effected consumers, minimizing media exposure, and effectively mitigating the risk of substantial financial loss. Identity Safeguards has provided the same service to hospitals, universities and governmental entities throughout the nation.

In the event an organization experiences a data breach, the EIRS plan provides forensic data breach investigation, GLBA compliant notification services, customer assistance, ID protection packages, victim advocacy, fully managed ID theft restoration and fraud and legal reporting.

The EIRS plan has been perfected in response to end user demand, technological advancements and criminal sophistication. Recently packaged in the plan is a breach insurance policy to cover the potential costs of a data breach. This policy covers legal liability damages, defense, regulatory action and notification expenses, in addition to crisis management, and identity theft recovery services for victims, including education, assistance and credit monitoring.

"Confidential data loss or theft and resulting identity theft has become a risk agencies and consumers cannot afford to ignore," said Identity Safeguards President and industry expert, Richard Kam.

"Our goal," says Kam, "was to create a plan that would assist governmental entities and corporations in effectively responding to a data breach. Our EIRS [Emergency Incident Response Service plan allows departmental heads to address issues quickly and effectively, and mitigate the likelihood of extensive media exposure, class action lawsuits and damaged reputation. It has proven successful during the past five years and we're confident it will continue to lead the industry in providing organizations the protection they are searching for."
