Peak 10 adds Electronic Vaulting to suite of Managed Services offerings

Peak 10, Inc. has added Electronic Vaulting (E-Vaulting) to its suite of Managed Services offerings. E-Vaulting enhances customers’ backup and storage needs by providing secure data transfer to a second Peak 10 facility.

“It used to be enough for companies to backup data at a single site. But a large and growing number of our clients now require that backed up data is stored in at least two separate locations,” said Monty (June 14, 2007)-- Blight, Peak 10 vice president for Managed Services. According to Blight, this approach is becoming a standard best practice driven by compliance with regulations like HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley and Graham-Leach-Blilley.

“Offsite tape storage is still the right answer for some clients but E-Vaulting gives clients who require a disk-based solution another option,” Blight said.

Peak 10 provides fully managed disk-to-disk-to-tape backup solutions for its clients. This includes full weekly backups and daily incrementals. E-Vaulting builds on that platform by duplicating backed-up data to a second Peak 10 facility, with transfer of the data being monitored in order to ensure complete and accurate backups. E-Vaulting clients have access to multiple Internet service providers from each Peak 10 data center, ensuring that the data will be backed up, regardless if one ISP goes down.

E-Vaulting is more flexible and typically faster than removable media and physical transportation to offsite storage. Businesses using E-Vaulting can have their mission-critical data automatically backed-up and transmitted securely in multiple, geographically disbursed Peak 10 data center locations with optimal connectivity from facility to facility via Peak 10’s private OCx network.

Peak 10’s data center services improve reliability, increase revenue growth, lower costs, and maximize internal resources for customers while keeping their valuable information technology assets close to the business.  The company combines its network secure, high-tech data centers and portfolio of managed services with localized engineering and support to serve market-leading companies nationwide.
