Akonix Drives Innovation in the Compliance and Risk Management Market

(Oct 16, 2007)-- Akonix Systems, a provider of policy and risk management products for real-time communications, today announced Akonix L7 Enterprise v6.2, to provide instant messaging (IM) archiving, security, compliance and policy management for Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007.

L7 Enterprise further simplifies regulatory compliance, including support for e-discovery rules, by effectively streamlining unified communications management and policy deployment. Thanks to Akonix’s 360° Security for Real-Time Communications, employees can take advantage of Office Communications Server 2007’s IM capabilities, including connectivity to public IM networks such as Windows Live Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger, with added protection against external security breaches such as worms and viruses.

The new release of L7 Enterprise provides improved compliance features for Akonix customers. Further expanding its IM archiving capabilities, version 6.2 now directly integrates with C2C ArchiveOne, Fortiva and Quest Software electronic message archiving platforms. It also adds external disclaimer injection for compliance and audit purposes. This provides businesses with a retrievable record of external users notified of IM conversation monitoring, assisting them in potential litigation headaches and helping to enforce policy for appropriate corporate IM use.

- Enables the Akonix L7 Enterprise plug-in for Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 and Live Communications Server 2005 to provide redundant logging and management service from two Akonix L7 Enterprise gateway servers, ensuring a zero-message loss infrastructure

- Integrates with SQL Server 2005, ISA Server and archives directly to Microsoft Exchange Hosted Archive

- Ensures logging data is accessible for reporting and archiving within one hour
