3PAR Delivers Simplicity and Seamless Scalability to Alert Logic's SaaS Security Platform
(Dec 18, 2007)-- 3PAR, provider of utility storage, announced today that Alert Logic, Inc., the industry's leading provider of on-demand IT compliance and security solutions, has chosen 3PAR Utility Storage to consolidate and scale its mission-critical hosted software-as-a-service (SaaS) environment. Alert Logic selected two 3PAR InServ S800 Storage Servers for their high availability, seamless scalability, and ease of use.
"3PAR Utility Storage offers the most stable blend of innovative features available today," said Misha Govshteyn, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Alert Logic. "But what really sets the InServ apart is the highly virtualized architecture, which actually improves performance as the system scales."
Alert Logic, a winner of the "Security Hot Companies 2007" Award from Info Security Products Guide, provides on-demand IT compliance and security services to customers across the United States. According to Govshteyn, Alert Logic's clients depend on the reliability, scalability, and performance of its service. With solutions that include threat management, log management, and IT compliance automation, Alert Logic requires a highly available, high-performance storage platform to assure that its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platforms are "always on."
As a result of introducing a new log management solution designed to store customer security logs online for up to seven years, Alert Logic was experiencing accelerated data growth that exceeded the capabilities of its incumbent modular storage platform. Since modular storage would not permit cost-effective scalability, the SaaS provider sought a new platform that could deliver high availability, assured data integrity, massive scalability, ease of use, and high levels of performance -- even at high levels of storage utilization. After evaluating products from 3PAR alongside alternative storage platforms, Alert Logic selected 3PAR Utility Storage to consolidate and scale its mission-critical SaaS environment. Now Alert Logic's clustered MySQL databases and network file servers run on two highly virtualized InServ S800 Storage Servers
