Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) deploys Trellia’s solution for Enabling the Secure Use of Wi-Fi

(March 19, 2009)-- A provider of Mobile Policy Management software provider Trellia Networks (www.trellia.com), announced that the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) deployed Trellia’s solution to enable the secure use of Wi-Fi by its mobile workforce. Prior to deploying Trellia, bank policy required that Wi-Fi be disabled on end-user notebooks in order to avoid risks from eavesdropping, man-in-the-middle attacks or network bridging.

BDC “Increased demand from our mobile workers forced us to consider how to allow Wi-Fi use. We needed a way to achieve two competing objectives: maintaining data security and giving end-users the flexibility to be more productive,” says BDC’s Vice President, IT, Chantal Belzile. “Trellia’s mobile policy enforcement solution enabled BDC to efficiently implement the policies required to achieve both objectives.”

BDC used Trellia’s Mobile Policy Manager (MPM) to efficiently implement, automate and enforce policies to prioritize network selection, prevent network bridging, enforce the corporate VPN, manage proxy settings and disable administrator rights on all laptops.
