MedLink TV Network Offers New York Doctors a Stage to Voice Healthcare Concerns to Patients
(Dec 13, 2007)-- MedLink International announced that the New York County Medical Society has begun airing information about the medical liability crisis and its impact on patient access to care on the MedLink TV network. The Society, representing Manhattan physicians, is now able to share information with more than 250,000 patients a month about issues that affect the cost and quality of health care, as it begins airing news spots on MedLink TV this month.
MedLink TV's network provides news, information, viewpoint and other healthcare related programming in waiting rooms at physicians' offices and medical facilities. The programming is designed to encourage thoughtful communication between patients and healthcare providers, keep patients and their families informed about healthcare news and issues, and turn the time sitting in a waiting room into a more relaxed, pleasant, and entertaining experience.
"MedLink TV's programming on hundreds of TV screens in doctors' waiting rooms and medical facilities throughout the New York metropolitan area are seen by hundreds of thousands of people a month. These are the people we need to reach. And MedLink TV is the most direct and cost-effective means to reach this exact demographic," said Margaret Lewin, MD, President, New York County Medical Society. "Since many patients are also voters, our first spot makes the case for tort reform in New York State. This critical issue not only affects the cost and quality, but also the availability of health care in New York."
"We are very gratified that the New York County Medical Society has chosen MedLink TV to air its informational TV spots. It is more than just a media placement; for us it's a validation of the unique value that MedLink TV offers to the healthcare consumer and industry," said Ray Vuono, CEO MedLink International. "As we continue to expand our services into more medical offices and facilities throughout the tri-state area and nationwide, the patient audience will grow exponentially. We anticipate that MedLink TV will become a primary source of news, information and viewpoint for the healthcare industry."
Recently, MedLink announced that the New York County Medical Society had endorsed MedLink International and recommended MedLink TV to its 8,000 member physicians. On December 6, 2007, the Bronx County Medical Society officially endorsed MedLink International and its products and services, including MedLink TV, and offered MedLink TV to its more than 800 physician members as a benefit of membership. All Society members receive these flat screen units for their reception areas at no charge (nonmembers must pay $800).
