Casdex Unveils HIPAA Compliant Digital Archiving Service

(Feb 13, 2008)-- Casdex, a California firm that specializes in secure data storage solutions, announced the launch of its new, state-of-the-art digital archiving technology at the LegalTech Show, the legal industry's most important technology trade show.

Casdex provides remote data storage and digital archiving capabilities that are fully-secured, user-friendly and wholly compliant with SEC, HIPAA and SOX regulations. The Casdex technology is the first to gear itself specifically towards the budgets of small and mid-sized businesses while proving that affordability does not mean sacrificing quality and reliability.

"Small businesses and solo practitioners today have the same archiving needs and face the same federal regulations as larger firms," said Casdex Founder and Chief Technology Officer David Barley. "We found, however, that when it came to providing effective and secure data archiving solutions, the price tags of today's technologies automatically discounted these smaller firms. What we've done is provided a way for start-ups, solo practitioners and small firms to have immediate access to a highly-sophisticated data storage and archiving technology at an affordable price."

At only $99 per month, Casdex requires no manuals or expensive training, uses an easy drag-and-drop interface and needs only an Internet connection for immediate access from any location worldwide.

Casdex's double-layer protection system, which employs both encryption and multiple remote points of storage, means that small businesses and firms can rest assured that their documents are safe against data theft and man-made or natural disaster. An algorithm-based technology encrypts documents, and these documents are then transmitted in pieces to various remote access locations, to be reassembled only when retrieved by their owner via password-protected authentication.

Retention times will also no longer pose a hassle for small businesses and firms, as the Casdex technology allows users to specify their own document retention times based on their customizable policies. At the end of the programmed time, Casdex breaks apart, deletes and destroys the information, ensuring security, freeing up storage space and providing an authenticated data trail.

This all-important authentication feature is unique to Casdex, and it involves creating a fingerprint of each archived document and recording the date and content of any changes made. The result is court-admissible, authenticated electronic copies of important legal and business documents that meet the evidence requirements of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.

"We want small businesses and solo firms to know that the best in data storage and archiving is no longer reserved for large firms with money to spare," said Barley. "Casdex makes big business solutions available for small business budgets."
