STAR Anesthesia Extends Contract with Digital Defense for Frontline Security Compliance Services

(June 03, 2008)-- Digital Defense, provider of information security, assessment services and Software as a Service (SaaS) Security Compliance solutions, announced that STAR Anesthesia had renewed its service contract for Frontline Vulnerability Lifecycle Management (VLM). STAR Anesthesia will continue utilizing Frontline VLM on an on-demand basis to manage the security posture of the organization’s computing networks under the terms of this extended agreement.

“As an organization comprised of five anesthesia practice teams that serve four major healthcare systems and 51 healthcare facilities, we need flexible vulnerability scanning and lifecycle management services that can be tailored to meet our current and future needs,” said Gordon R. Jaehne, CEO of STAR Anesthesia. “Frontline VLM is the solution for us. Our ability to scan our computer networks at our practice groups across San Antonio from a secure Web portal helps our IT staff rapidly evaluate the security posture of our organization. We are also very pleased with the integrated workflow management capabilities that enable us to easily assign tickets to our IT workforce and track remediation progress reducing our risk of a security breach and expense of maintaining the security of our networks.”

Frontline VLM supports several assessment service types including host discovery, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing. The results of these automated and analyst-assisted assessment services, channeled into a common workflow management solution, are available online or in numerous types of downloadable reports. Additionally, the solution allows organizations to assign business risk levels to computing devices connected to their IP networks. By associating risk with the security posture of each device, an organization can better manage the priorities of their IT resources, reducing operational expenses and risk of compromise to information assets.

“We want to thank STAR Anesthesia for allowing us to continue to serve them with our security compliance solutions,” said Larry R. Hurtado, president and CEO of Digital Defense. “Our primary mission is to deliver high quality, security assessment services and support offerings to our clients. STAR Anesthesia’s decision to sign-up again for our services is the ultimate compliment and confirmation that we are achieving our mission objectives and most importantly providing value to our clients.”

Digital Defense offers a comprehensive set of security assessment solutions to healthcare organizations and other companies regulated by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) including, but not limited to vulnerability scanning, penetration tests, and web application testing.
