• Understand all required and addressable HIPAA Security implementation specifications.
• Review core elements of a security policy document for a health care entity.
• Review specific requirements and implementation features within each security category.
• Identify core elements of a compliance plan that every health care entity is required to develop for business continuity and disaster recovery.

This training will enable the audit team to effectively conduct HIPAA Security Rule assessments at the VHA’s 152 medical facilities and periodically review and assess the progress of previous HIPAA violators & business associates.

This training is also recommended for business associates, consultants and others who service VHA facilities to ensure that compliance efforts are initiated at all levels to maintain HIPAA compliance and avoid any breach by business associates.
