Axentis Announces Licensing Relationship with IT Governance Institute

(May 07, 2007)-- Axentis announced  that it is partnering with the IT Governance Institute (ITGI). Under terms of the partnership, Axentis is reselling ITGI’s Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT) as part of its new IT GRC Management Suite, enabling organizations to effectively develop, communicate and manage IT processes based on widely recognized standards like ISO/IEC 17799, ITIL, and GAPP in addition to COBIT.

“The agreement with Axentis allows our COBIT framework to be provided through Axentis IT GRC Management Suite, which ensures that more organizations are able to better leverage these standards to enhance their IT governance,” said Roger Debreceny, chair of ITGI’s COBIT Steering Committee. “Organizations will be able to approach IT governance in a more comprehensive way, giving executives and boards a complete view of IT risks and rewards.”

Through Axentis IT GRC Management Suite, the new COBIT option provides users with an IT governance framework to ensure that IT practices are thoroughly communicated and integrated across business units, while producing a defensible audit trail mapping the ownership of individual responsibilities. Because Axentis IT GRC Management Suite is provided via Axentis Enterprise, the industry’s first and only pure Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) compliance solution, the new COBIT framework can be implemented quickly allowing IT to focus on the processes and not the system implementation and support.

“With the addition of ITGI’s COBIT framework to Axentis IT GRC Management Suite, Axentis is able to provide organizations with an integrated reference standard within a complete GRC approach to better address the increasing regulatory demands and to raise the value of IT to the organization,” said Robert Hoyt, CEO of Axentis. “Most importantly, we are utilizing the knowledge and expertise of the organization responsible for developing COBIT, which considerably enhances the effectiveness of our new IT GRC solution.”
