ECC Recieves Top OSHA Designation

(Oct 22, 2007)-- ECC's Rocky Mountain Arsenal (RMA) project has been designated as an OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star Site for extraordinary performance in safety and health.

Recipients of the award are considered leaders in safety and health excellence with exceptionally strong safety cultures supported by comprehensive, proven successful safety and health programs. OSHA stated of ECC, "The employee involvement...is considered exceptional, and it stands as an example for other worksites in the industry."

At the time of the award, ECC's three-year incident rate at RMA was 100 percent safer than the national average for the remediation-services industry. ECC's dedication to worker safety starts from the highest levels of senior management.

Manjiv S. Vohra, PE, ECC's President & CEO, states, "The ECC family values safety and health. We are constantly looking out for each other, our clients, communities, and environment. We lead by example and all our employees hold each other accountable for carrying out our mission safely."

He continued, "This award recognizes our accomplishments, and further strengthens our commitment to ECC's uncompromising safety culture."

ECC has been recognized for their safety commitments with numerous other safety awards throughout the organization, including 18 Perfect Record Awards, 12 Certificates of Merit, two Million Work Hours Awards, and two Milestone Awards from the National Safety Council, as well as OSHA Region 1's VVP "Star Among Stars" award for ECC's work at the Massachusetts Military Reservation.

Established in 1985, ECC provides a broad range of services to support our clients' missions, including HTRW and other environmental remediation, design/build construction, operations and maintenance, and munitions response experience. ECC serves a variety of U.S. government agencies, including the Army, Air Force, Navy, Department of State, and Department of Energy.
