Shermco Industries Accepted for OSHA's VPP Challenge Pilot Program

(Nov 07, 2008)-- Shermco Industries,  provider of rotating apparatus and electrical power system testing, commissioning, repair, maintenance and training, has been accepted into the Challenge Pilot Program, a part of OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP).

OSHA’s VPP encourages and assists employers in their efforts to protect their employees' safety and health. The Challenge Pilot Program gives recognition to exemplary employers in the process of working towards implementing a successful safety and health management system. Dedicated to the highest safety standards for its workers, Shermco has entered stage one of the program.

“We are committed to achieving the highest safety criteria,” said Ron Widup, executive vice president of Shermco. “OSHA’s verification includes an application review and a rigorous onsite evaluation by a team of OSHA safety and health experts. And, we feel it is all a very worthwhile endeavor.”

In the VPP, management, labor, and OSHA establish cooperative relationships at workplaces that have implemented a comprehensive safety and health management system. Approval into VPP is OSHA’s official recognition of the outstanding efforts of employers and employees who have achieved exemplary occupational safety and health.
