ClickSafety Launches OSHA 10-Hour Road Construction Online Safety Course

(Nov 20, 2008)-- ClickSafety has developed a new online safety program for its training portfolio - the OSHA 10-Hour Road Construction Safety course. The course is available at ClickSafety portal www.OSHA10.com.

By improving the efficiency and lowering the cost of safety training, online coursework makes it easier for construction business owners to lower the risk of injury and death on their job sites. This is particularly important among road construction contractors, as more than 630 fatalities occurred on road construction sites from 2003 to 2007.

ClickSafety is the only online trainer authorized by OSHA to distribute this course and expects to train more than 10,000 U.S. road construction personnel in 2009.

Trainees completing the course can download and print a temporary completion certificate. Within four weeks, ClickSafety will mail an official Department of Labor (DOL) completion card to the trainee.

The online safety training course covers the following topics:

* Introduction to OSHA;
* electrical hazards;
* fall protection;
* motor vehicles/mechanized equipment;
* cranes and aerial lifts;
* excavations;
* work zone traffic control;
* roadway construction common hazards;
* roadway construction health hazards; and
* roadway special considerations.

The 10-Hour Road Construction Safety course is available for $125 per trainee and can be completed at the trainee's own pace. From the time of starting, trainees have six months to complete the course.
