One More Accident Free Year Announced by Universal Wrecking Corp

(March 18, 2009)—An expanded demolition, wrecking and scrap metal recycling contractor, Universal Wrecking Corp (UWC), proudly announces one more accident and incident free year. This ability to have zero reportables on the OSHA 300 form is due to the strong commitment For UWC right from the management to laborers, safety always comes first.

Over the last 5 years, Universal Wrecking has worked over 280,000 hours without an OSHA recordable incident / accident. These man hours were worked on projects ranging from complicated selective demolition within facilities to the total demolition of buildings and structures (some of these facilities were in excess of a million square feet). To make sure safety is a priority, each project is staffed with a site safety officer who enforces the UWC Health and Safety Plan as well as client specific safety standards. In addition, management conducts safety audits to make proactive changes in work efforts to ensure no accidents occur.

Universal Wrecking is committed to maintaining this exception safety record in 2009 and beyond. UWC provides continuing safety education of its employees through training, seminars and toolbox safety talks.
