Vendor Safe introduces PCI compliance solution to convenience stores and fuel retailers.

(May 19, 2009) -A participating organization of the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards Council, Vendor Safe Technologies, introduces its proven, comprehensive PCI compliance solution to convenience stores and fuel retailers. The payment card industry's approaching 2010 deadline for security compliance, combined with customers' increased use of credit and debit cards at cash registers and pay at the pump, makes it imperative for convenience stores to secure their networks and protect cardholders. Vendor Safe goes beyond the requirements of PCI Security Standards, while providing convenience stores the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) for PCI compliance.

Bill Pickard, COO of Vendor Safe Technologies said, "High transaction volumes and multiple access points make C-stores particularly vulnerable to credit card fraud, yet few C-store organizations have secured their networks to the level defined by the PCI Security Standards Council. Many store operators are concerned about the impending July 2010 compliance deadline, but the greater concern should be a credit card breach that could potentially put them out of business with card replacement fees, mandatory on-site security audits and non-compliance penalties.

"With Vendor Safe, any C-store organization can achieve PCI compliance in 30 days for a surprisingly affordable, fixed monthly fee. Our out-of-the-box, IT-friendly solution offers rapid installation, no IP changes to the LAN or WAN, no new IP addressing scheme and does away with the need for an onsite technician."
Convenience store operators can easily achieve and maintain PCI compliance and quickly answer the PCI Data Security Standard (DSS) Self-Assessment Questionnaire utilizing Vendor Safe's proven PCI Managed Security Suite(tm) and new PCI Compliance Reporting Suite(tm). Features include:

* IP DataBlocker(tm) stops automated malware processes or individuals
with access to the network from sending data to prohibited Internet
locations from within the customer environment. This feature could
have prevented many publicized breaches including Dave & Buster's
and Heartland.
* HotSpot Plus(tm), a robust wireless solution with four segregated
wireless networks.
* Rogue Device Manager(tm) detects and reacts in the event than an
unauthorized computer system is physically added to a customer
network.
* Global Security Mesh(tm)/ VPN, a managed gateway solution providing
best-in-class security with 24 X 7 X 365 monitoring, error logs and
alerts.
* Forced Configuration Manager(tm), automated access controller that
validates the configuration of a remote system before allowing
remote access.
* Automatic Broadband Failover detects when the primary Internet
connection fails and responds by initiating a redundant Internet
connection. The redundant interface can be a second high speed
Internet feed (cable modem) provided by the operator, or a dial-up
modem connection provided as part of Global Security Mesh/VPN.
* Vulnerability Scans proactively identify weaknesses with all-
inclusive assessment and are Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV) program
compliant. Internal and external scanning are available.
* SAQuick(tm) Questionnaire lets merchants easily complete the Self-
Assessment Questionnaire and Attestation of Compliance required by
the PCI DSS with an automated, online questionnaire.
