Compliance with Payment Card Industry's Data Security Standard Achieved by BOWE BELL + HOWELL Business Continuity Production Services

(January 7, 2010) - The highest certification level of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) has been achieved by BÖWE BELL + HOWELL. PCI-DSS is a certification program initiated in 2004 by the four major credit card companies (VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover) to establish and help ensure the highest level of security standards for companies that process credit card data.

PCI-DSS requires service providers that store, process and transmit cardholder data to have a comprehensive information security program in place to ensure cardholder data protection. To meet compliance with the PCI-DSS standard, BÖWE BELL + HOWELL is required annually to undergo a series of rigorous onsite audits by an independent auditing firm, conduct internal audits, and perform extensive network scanning. To maintain compliance, they must provide an annual report to demonstrate that IT systems, processes and policies continue to meet PCI-DSS requirements.
