Primavera Releases New Version of SOX Compliant Resource Management Software
(Nov 28, 2007)-- Primavera Systems announced the latest version of Primavera Evolve, its market-leading resource management software. In this release, Evolve has expanded its financial, auditing, reporting and integration capabilities so that resource management information can be tied to other data sources across the enterprise to broaden the view that organizations have into their business operations.
With Primavera Evolve (version 8.9), executives and managers ensure that the right people are working on the right projects at the right time. The result is a powerful 360-degree view enabling effective top-down planning, evaluating potential investments and selecting project portfolios based on the strategic alignment of the organization and its ability to execute. From pre- planning through delivery, management can continually assess how well the project portfolio is advancing to completion in order to deliver on overall strategic vision.
Nimble and innovative companies such as Sabre make important decisions quickly and execute their plans consistently. "Sabre is the top online retailer of travel products through our Travelocity brand, but we also provide a wide range of critical distribution and technology solutions for the entire travel industry," said Greg Bronson, director of strategic planning at Sabre Holdings. "To keep our competitive edge, we need to know exactly which projects -- and that includes those that are still in the planning stages -- are most important to our continued success, and which resources we will need to ensure that we can execute successfully. Primavera's solutions provide us with a view of the entire business so that we can make decisions rapidly and confidently."
Evolve's extended integration with Primavera's ProSight portfolio management solution as well as Microsoft Project Server 2007 enables customers to execute on strategic business initiatives more effectively. ProSight gives organizations a high-level view which enables the prioritization of IT assets and projects. With Evolve, management can then identify the resources required, assess which resources are available and then assign the right resources to the right projects. During the execution phase, Microsoft Project provides users with time-based information so that they can keep projects on track. When all three of these solutions are integrated together through Evolve, business leaders have the information they need to make sound decisions.
Other new capabilities in Evolve include:
-- Stronger financial security and audit controls: Reduces regulatory risk by improving an organization's ability to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements on invoicing processes.
-- Permissions auditing: Lowers management costs by enabling deep visibility into users' rights within the system for easy reporting on security configurations and settings.
-- Enhanced reporting: Provides user-friendly ways to track and report on key data.
"Evolve provides business leaders with the tools and analysis they need to plan more effectively and adjust more quickly in a constantly changing global marketplace," said Joel Koppelman, CEO, Primavera Systems. "With Evolve, our customers have been able to manage and motivate their greatest asset in a project driven world -- their people."
