High Tower Software Unveils Security Information Event Manager
(Aprl 10, 2008)-- Security solutions developer High Tower Software has released a security appliance designed to help IT personnel in smaller organizations mitigate network security risks and better manage regulatory compliance. Called Cinxi Express, the new product is a Security Information Event Manager (SIEM) that collects log data from network devices, applications and users, analyzes the information to assess potential security and compliance threats, and alerts personnel when risks are detected.
Like High Tower's enterprise-class Cinxi SIEM solutions, Cinxi Express delivers a full suite of log management, threat response, compliance monitoring, and data forensics capabilities organizations need to ensure that networks are secure and operating within corporate and regulatory guidelines.
"Smaller organizations face the same security and compliance hurdles that larger ones do," said High Tower vice president of product management, A. Sage Osterfeld. "The biggest difference is that smaller operations don't always have the personnel to dedicate to managing and maintaining these areas fulltime, so it's often the same person handling these tasks simultaneously. Cinxi Express offers a single solution for both security and compliance."
For security-related tasks, Cinxi Express delivers cross-device log monitoring and correlation, providing real time situational awareness of all security-related events on the network. Those events deemed sufficiently significant can be mitigated through an integrated case management and workflow system.
For compliance-oriented tasks, Cinxi Express' secure raw log management and pre-packaged reports for SOX, PCI, HIPAA, GLBA, ISO 27001, FIPS, FISMA, FERPA and many more, greatly simplifies maintaining compliance standards and audit requirements. Cinxi Express users may also create custom reports for other compliance standards or internal business requirements.
Other major features of Cinxi Express include a high-performance hardware and software architecture, an integrated intuitive graphical control panel, and a setup and installation process that allows the product to go from the box to full operation in under an hour.
"Even though Cinxi Express is designed for smaller organizations, the feature set is by no means small. Cinxi Express is built on the same award-winning technology platform as our larger enterprise systems, and delivers the same ease-of-installation," Osterfeld said. "Cinxi Express users receive the same user experience as larger Cinxi installations, and can easily migrate upward as their organizations grow."
Cinxi Express carries a list price of $17,995 and is available directly from High Tower as well as through High Tower reseller and distribution channels.
