Japan's Fuji Television Network Selects Imperva for Database Monitoring and J-SOX Compliance

(Sept 07,2008)-- Imperva announced that Fuji Television Network, Japan's leading television broadcasting company, has selected its SecureSphere Database Monitoring Gateways (DMG) to meet compliance requirements mandated by Japan's Financial Instruments and Exchange Law. The deployment was supported by Japanese distributor Ahkun Co. Ltd.

Fuji TV deployed SecureSphere to strengthen controls over its financial data and establish a governance framework to meet Japan's Financial Instruments and Exchange Law, which is often referred to as J-SOX for its resemblance to the United States Sarbanes-Oxley Act. SecureSphere provides Fuji TV with an automated reporting system that simplifies and reduces the cost of documenting and demonstrating J-SOX compliance.

"In comparison with alternative solutions, SecureSphere was the only product that enabled us to monitor and audit database activity without impacting our existing infrastructure," said Satoshi Morimoto, Manager of Information Security for Fuji Television Network. "SecureSphere provides us with full details on database queries and responses, and allows us to easily meet J-SOX requirements. We were also impressed with SecureSphere's ease of deployment and support services."

Following a comprehensive evaluation of database monitoring products, Fuji TV selected SecureSphere for its unique ability to:
Impose zero impact on the existing production environment
Support transaction intensive networks and applications without affecting performance
Provide comprehensive database auditing and security capabilities

"Fuji Television Network is an excellent example of how audit and compliance requirements are driving the need for database monitoring and security across a wide range of industries," says Michael Lyu, Vice President of Asia Pacific Sales for Imperva. "While companies recognize the importance of database audit and protection, they are not willing to sacrifice performance. SecureSphere's ability to monitor, report on, and block database activity without slowing down response times, sets it apart from the competition."

"We recommended Imperva SecureSphere to Fuji Television Network based on its unmatched ability to operate transparently, even in extremely large, transaction-intensive environments," said Mr. Akira Watanabe, President of Ahkun. "Fuji TV was pleased with how easily SecureSphere dropped into their network and the depth and breadth of its database monitoring. Imperva has enabled Fuji TV to streamline J-SOX regulatory compliance from both a technical and an internal process perspective."
