National Australia Bank this morning rounded out the season with a statutory net profit of $2.7 billion (up 28 per cent on the March 2007 half year), a cash profit of $2.2 billion (up eight per cent) while “underlying” cash profit (still $2.2 billion) increased 18 per cent. NAB said its return on equity increased 0.3 percentage points to 16.8 per cent.
