Cardiome to Meet With FDA Panel

Drug developers Cardiome Pharma Corp. and Astellas Pharma US Inc. said Thursday the Food and Drug Administration asked the companies to participate in a panel review over its abnormal heart rhythm treatment.

Also, because of the filing of additional information after the original submission, the FDA said a decision on the drug will be extended by three months to Jan. 19.

The companies initially applied for the drug's approval in December and the FDA accepted the application in February.
