FDA clears Hansen Medical robotic product

Hansen Medical Inc., a developer of robotic technology for 3D control of catheter movement during cardiac procedures, said Wednesday it received U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance to market a product.

Mountain View-based Hansen (NASDAQ:HNSN) said its CoHesion 3D Visualization Module is designed for use in complex electrophysiology mapping procedures.

Earlier this year, the CoHesion module was released in the European Union and there are currently eight European Sensei systems configured with the new module.
