Corker Proposes Banking Hotline

It worked when he proposed the idea while serving as mayor of Chattanooga. Now that he’s a U.S. senator, Bob Corker, R-Tenn., wants to do a version of the same thing: set up a toll-free telephone hotline to help people across the country, this time with banking issues.

The idea he proposed during his State of the City speech as Chattanooga’s mayor in 2002 was simple. Set up a phone hotline that acts as a one-stop call center for all kinds of questions related to the city and its services. At the time, then-Mayor Corker described the hotline as giving every citizen equal access to City Hall.
