Former claims processer pleads guilty in ID theft case

A former claims processor admitted today to providing billing information to a Bear man who then used it to steal hundreds of identities and obtain over $300,000 in bogus tax refunds.Linda Danyell Williams pleaded guilty to identity theft and wrongfully obtaining an individual's health information in federal court this morning. Williams faces up to 12 years in prison when District Judge Gregory M. Sleet sentences her in late July.According to court papers, from July 2005 until June 2006, Williams obtained detailed information on more than 400 people from computers at the New Castle-based Hospital Billing & Collection Service Ltd., where Williams worked as a claims processor.
