How Much Do HIPAA Rules Drive Your Organization's IT Buying Decisions?
www.ihealthbeat.org Ninety-one percent of health care IT decision makers and executives said that HIPAA regulations influence or strongly influence their IT purchasing decisions, according to a new survey sponsored by Imprivata, a developer of electronic access management tools.
Six percent of respondents said HIPAA regulations were the primary drivers in IT purchasing decisions at their organizations, while 3% said HIPAA regulations are not considered very much in purchasing decisions.
The survey also found that 73% of respondents said their organizations are rolling out new IT applications within the next six months.
