OHSA chief: Workplace safety helps economic development

As one of the most successful industrial nations in the world, the United States has done a good job with respect to improving on-the-job productivity, efficiency and quality, the head of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration told a gathering of labor officials Tuesday at the Westin Savannah Harbor.

"So, what's left to help us keep that competitive edge - to help us keep jobs in this country?" Edwin Foulke Jr. asked the group of mostly state labor commissioners in town for the National Association of Government Labor Officials meeting.
