Las Vegas to get new OSHA training center

www.lvbusinesspress.com

More than 20,000 business employees nationally received safety training from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in 2007.

Nevada soon will be contributing to the upcoming 2008 training numbers with its first Las Vegas-based OSHA training center, which will be established at the College of Southern Nevada this year, officials said.

There have been more than 2,300 cases referred to OSHA in the government agency's Region IX, of which Nevada is a part, in the last 12 months. Region IX also includes Arizona, California, Hawaii, American Samoa, and Guam. Seventy eight of those cases are still open.
